A United Express regional passenger jet has skidded off a runway at Ottawa International Airport.

Authorities said the 44 passengers and crew on the plane were not apparently injured, but the Sunday incident did result in a fuel spill. Ottawa fire services sprayed foam on the spilled fuel and around the disabled aircraft.

Ottawa police report the Chicago to Ottawa flight skidded into a grassy area. A Reuters' photographer reported seeing a damaged wing. No cause for the mishap was reported.
