Workers in Thailand are struggling to drain and repair a 500-year-old temple that was flooded when the Chao Phraya River overflowed its banks.

Two meters of water surround stupas at the Wat Chai Watthanaram temple, a World Heritage Site. The flooding has also forced hundreds of people to flee their homes in the central province of Ayutthaya.

More than two months of heavy rain across Thailand has killed at least 237 people and left more than two dozen provinces submerged.

The rains began on July 25 in parts of northern and central Thailand.
