Major League Baseball's World Series is tied at 2 games each after the host Texas Rangers shut out the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 Sunday night.

Texas starting pitcher Derek Holland allowed only two hits coupled with seven strikeouts through 8 1/3 innings to earn the win. The previous night, Rangers pitching allowed 16 runs in a loss to the Cardinals.

Game four saw Texas catcher Mike Napoli hit a 3-run home run in the sixth inning. Saturday night's St. Louis hero Albert Pujols went hitless in Sunday's contest.

Game five is scheduled to be played Monday night in Texas before the World Series returns to St Louis Wednesday.

The World Series championship is awarded to the team that wins the best-of-seven series.
