A group of heavily armed militants dressed in police uniforms stormed a police station in northwest Pakistan Saturday, triggering a gun battle with security forces that killed four people.
Local authorities said the gunmen and suicide bombers hurled grenades into the police chief's office in Dera Ismail Khan town, near the lawless South Waziristan tribal region.
They said soldiers engaged the attackers, killing all four of them. Several people were wounded, including police officers.
The station housing the police chief's office is located in a high-security area that houses government offices, a court complex and lawyers' offices.
