Venezuelan officials say President Hugo Chavez is recovering satisfactorily after undergoing surgery in Cuba. Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro says Mr. Chavez had an abscess removed from his pelvic area. Venezuela’s president, who is recovering from a recent knee operation, underwent surgery Friday morning in Cuba. Mexican football officials are blaming contaminated meat for five of their national team players failing doping tests. The Mexican Football Federation said the players had all tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol from tests carried out in Mexico on May 21.
