Tokyo Stocks Up, Dollar Unchanged

Japanese share prices ended higher Monday, while the dollar was unchanged against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index rose six-tenths of a percent to close at 8,851. The dollar was selling at 76.59 yen in currency trading, down slightly from late Friday. Gold was trading at $1,819.38 an ounce.

Japanese share prices ended higher Friday, while the dollar slipped against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained three-tenths of a percent , to close at 8,798. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 76.98 yen, down half a yen from late Thursday. Gold was selling at $1,785.15 an ounce.
