Mild Losses for Japan’s Nikkei Index

Japanese markets closed lower Thursday, while the U.S. dollar is higher against the Japanese yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index lost just over one-tenth of one percent to finish at 10,071. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.94, a gain of a fraction of a yen from Wednesday. Gold is trading at $1,527.28 an ounce.

Japanese markets closed higher Wednesday, while the U.S. dollar is lower against the Japanese yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained more than one percent to finish at 10,082. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.95, a loss of just over one-tenth of a yen from Tuesday. Gold is trading at $1,515.70 an ounce.
